Larnaca
With a population of just 62.000 Larnaca retains a relaxed, leisurely atmosphere. One of the town's most distinctive features is the mid-town seaside promenade lined with tall palm trees. Palm trees and minarets which dot the horizon also give Larnaca a Middle Eastern feel, particularly in the old, inner city. Its main shopping area is Zenon Kitieos Street, a typically busy road of small shops, with a colourful fruit and vegetable market at the far end.
Places of interest: Larnaca Fort and Marina; Archaeological Museum; Peirides Museum; Kamares; Hala Sultan Tekke.
