2 tank – Vera-K Wreck & Amphorae Caves
November 8 @ 8:30 am - 1:00 pm
Wreck of Vera K
The Vera-K was a Lebanese freighter that ran aground in 1972 and was later blown up in 1974 due to it being a hazard to passing vessels. The wreck in in four sections with much of the bridge and engine still intact.
This amazing dive site is situated just 20 minutes away from the Harbour laying inside a natural crater, along with the wreck there is a natural swim through and series of gullies for experienced divers to swim through.
Throughout this dive site hidden beneath Moulia Island there are a number of caves to explore; one of which has an amphora encrusted roof.
A team of American archaeologists investigated this site and believe that it is due to the movement of the sea bed over, many years (2 thousand to be a little more precise). This dive site is regularly visited by Sea Bream, Damsel fish, various species of Wrasse, Moray eel and Octopus.
We will meet at our well-equipped diving centre in Paphos Harbour. Our friendly and helpful PADI professionals will help you with equipment and begin with an interesting and informative dive briefing. Unless you have your own diving gear, all equipment is supplied by us. We spend a few minutes checking your sizes and will fit you with the suitable gear. All of our diving equipment is well maintained and serviced regularly to ensure your safety and comfort.
Once everyone is ready we will take a short walk to the Paphos harbour where we will board Cydive II. The journey from the harbour to the sites of Vera K and Amphora Caves takes around 10 minutes by boat.
Complimentary fresh fruit and refreshments will be served on the boat before returning to the harbour. Back at the dive centre our PADI professionals will de-brief you and help you to complete your logbooks.
