Akamas National Park – 2 Tank Dive
August 2 @ 7:00 am - 2:00 pm
Akamas National Park – 2 Tank Dives (Half day trip)
Situated on the North Coast of Paphos within the Akamas Peninsula. Crystal clear waters and the amazing landscape of the green mountains that slip into the sea, make it an excellent place to enjoy diving.
During this day trip you will stop in 2 beautiful locations for diving!
St George Island also known to locals as Kakoskali.
This island offers incredible diving and great snorkeling for all ages, there is something for everyone!
St George Island has an amazing wall feature, reaching from the seabed almost to the surface! The wall is covered in beautifully coloured algaes and corals. Here you will be able to find dotted nudibranch, slipper lobster and possibly moray eels hiding in the wall. The shallows are full of gullies and swim throughs for you to explore. During the warmer month you can often find a green turtle swimming amongst the sea grass. Due to the shelter the shallows provide you can often find huge schools of juvenile fish, which is great for those wanting to snorkel!
The second dive of this 2 tank trip will be decided on the day based on diver certification level as well as wind/sea conditions. Some of the fantastic options are Fontana Amorosa, Amphitheatre or St Georges Reef.
Fontana Amorosa
Fontana Amorosa meaning ‘the fountain of love’ is speculated to be where Aphrodite and her lovers would spent time. This dive site is located just 5 minutes outside of the Blue Lagoon. The walls of the rock reefs form gullies leading the way to the deepest section of this dive. The numerous holes and crevasses within the reef create the perfect environment for Dusky Grouper and Octopus.
Amphitheatre
Amphitheatre is located in the small part of Chrysochou bay, this dive site has a great underwater topography made up of rock reefs, seagrass meadows and swim throughs. The bay offers great protection against the wind and waves for perfect snorkeling and swimming conditions.
This trip is perfect for those wanting to explore the Akamas Peninsula.
