Blue Lagoon and Akamas National Park Day trip

Situated on the North Coast of Paphos within the Akamas Peninsula. This is a fantastic day out for those looking for a chance to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature. Crystal clear waters and the amazing landscape of the green mountains that slip into the sea, make it an excellent place to enjoy diving.

During this day trip you will stop in 3 beautiful locations for diving and snorkelling!

St George Island also known to locals as Kakoskali.

This island offers incredible diving and great snorkeling for all ages, there is something for everyone!

St George Island has an amazing wall feature, reaching from the seabed almost to the surface! The wall is covered in beautifully coloured algaes and corals. Here you will be able to find dotted nudibranch, slipper lobster and possibly moray eels hiding in the wall. The shallows are full of gullies and swim through for you to explore. During the warmer month you can often find a green turtle swimming amongst the sea grass. Due to the shelter the shallows provide you can often find huge schools of juvenile fish, which is great for those wanting to snorkel!

Blue Lagoon

The blue lagoon offers incredible crystal clear waters, and is surrounded by luscious green landscapes.  Grab your mask and snorkel and dive into the water to explore everything the blue lagoon has to offer! During this stop, a selection of local nibbles and refreshments will be provided. Spend just short of two hours swimming or basking in the sun before heading to our next location.

Fontana Amorosa or Amphitheatre

Fontana Amorosa meaning ‘the fountain of love’ is speculated to be where Aphrodite and her lovers would spent time. This dive site is located just 5 minutes outside of the Blue Lagoon. The walls of the rock reefs form gullies leading the way to the deepest section of this dive. The numerous holes and crevasses within the reef create the perfect environment for Dusky Grouper and Octopus.

Amphitheatre is located in the small part of Chrysochou bay, this dive site has a great underwater topography made up of rock reefs, seagrass meadows and swim throughs. The bay offers great protection against the wind and waves for perfect snorkeling and swimming conditions.

This day trip is perfect for those wanting to spend the day on the boat and in the water exploring the Akamas Peninsula.

    Frequently Asked Questions

If you would like to join the PADI worldwide family of divers there are two options you can start with. The Scuba Diver course and the Open Water course . We start courses twice a week, every Tuesday and every Friday, though sometimes depending on your available days we can be more flexible.

Even though you have dived before, local regulations require anyone with no diving qualifications to be treated as a novice. You can join us on the Discover Scuba Diving program, which is a great program for people with no diving qualifications and your previous experience in Scuba Diving will make the participation in this program for you easy and enjoyable!

We will make sure you know how to use the equipment and you are taught the safety aspect of scuba diving prior to going on a dive. All of this important information will be presented to you at the beginning of the Discover Scuba Diving program. Afterwards you will practice some safety skills in our in site swimming pool and then enjoy a fantastic sea dive in the crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean! Please click this link for more information: http://www.cydive.com/product/beginner-discover-scuba-diving/

You can prebook a few days before the activity or just from the day before. You can book by phone, email or directly in the shop. This is so we know in advance how many participants are on each program, allowing us to provide you with enough staff to ensure the highest level of service!

We accept both credit cards (Visa or Mastercard) and cash payments. However, cash is preferable to us (if possible).

Yes, we offer free transfers from/to hotels in Paphos and Coral Bay area to save you the time and trouble of getting to our dive centre on your own. If you stay at a private accommodation (apartments, tourist complex or villas) we will search for the easiest and closest pick up point to you. This will usually be a large hotel or nearby restaurant.

Yes, we have special group rates. You are welcome to send us an email with what you would like to do and the approximate number of participants and we will get back to you with our dive prices.

All of our scheduled diving activities for qualified divers can be found here: http://www.cydive.com/events/

Our schedule contains the description of each dive site, timings and qualification requirements. All you need to do is click on the dive you would like to do and all of the relevant information will pop out in a new tab.

As a qualified diver, you know that in scuba diving, safety comes first! That’s why we recommend our guests complete the refresher program (€55) which is available every day. This program includes a proper dive in the sea, but with some preparation before the dive. Your dive guide will give you a thorough briefing to remind you of all the important information and you will practice necessary skills in the shallow water area. This will help you to brush up your skills in a shallow water to avoid any complications for future dives. After this you will enjoy a nice and easy dive at a location of archaeological interest.

If you have no diving qualification, but would like to try scuba diving you are welcome to join us on the Discover Scuba Diving program. This is available every day and the cost of the program is €65 per person. You can find more details about this program here: http://www.cydive.com/product/beginner-discover-scuba-diving/
