Daytrip to Zenobia
November 9 @ 6:30 am - 4:00 pm
Zenobia Wreck
The wreck of MS Zenobia is a world famous wreck, ranked as one of the 10 best wreck dives in the world. She lies between 16 and 42 meters of water, just 1400 meters from the shores of Larnaca. This 172 meters long Swedish Ro-Ro ferry sank on her maiden voyage in 1980 following computer malfunctions in her ballast system. She lies on her port side with 108 articulated lorries. Some are on the lorry deck, and some in the cargo hold.
Take a look at this dive site!
What to expect:
During your first dive on the wreck you will cover the stern(back) section of the wreck. Passing the huge propeller, rear doors, cargo deck and life boat section! The second dive is a partial penetration dive covering the bow(front) of the wreck. Areas of penetration include the cafeteria and bridge. The windows of the wreck have been popped out to allow for easy entry and exit. During the second dive you will also see the anchor as well as the inside of the upper funnels.
There is more sea life on the Zenobia than any other dive site in Cyprus. Large sea bream and groupers are in abundance on the Zen. Along with barracuda, moray eel, grey trigger fish, amber jacks, and a myriad other sea life. For real excitement the occasional Loggerhead turtle will visit the decks.
To dive the Zenobia you must hold a minimum PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or have an alternative diving certificate allowing you to dive to 30 meters.
We will meet at our well-equipped diving centre in Paphos Harbour at 06:30.
Our friendly and helpful PADI professionals will help you with equipment and begin with an interesting and informative dive briefing. Unless you have your own diving gear, all equipment is supplied by us. We spend a few minutes checking your sizes and will fit you with the suitable gear. All of our diving equipment is well maintained and serviced regularly to ensure your safety and comfort.
You will then travel around 90 minutes by road to the Larnaca Marina to board the Queen Zenobia, a large two-hull fire boat converted to a two-deck dive boat.
In between dives there will be snacks, coffee and tea. A delicious and freshly prepared BBQ will be waiting for you at the end of the second dive.
