Limassol Wrecks
October 3 @ 7:00 am - 1:30 pm
The Limassol Wrecks
The Limassol Wrecks, Costandis and Lady Thetis, were both sank as part of the artificial reef program around Cyprus. They were 2 of 6 wrecks in the project, the other wrecks are Elpida, Laboe, Nemesis and Liberty wreck. The Limassol Wreck were sunk in February 2014.
The Costandis Wreck
Costandis originally a fishing vessel now lays at 23m on a silt bottom. With a length of 23m and breadth of 8.5m, this is a great wreck to explore with lots of the original features still in very good condition. When you descend onto this wreck the first thing you will see is George. George is a friendly mottled grouper that takes residence here, he is about 60-70 cm in length. There are plenty of areas to enter and exit this wreck, including the engine room. It can be fairly dark in there so you will want to bring your torch with you to get the best look at the engines!
The Lady Thetis
Lady Thetis was originally a passenger vessel, so features such as the dining tables can still be seen on the top deck. At 30m long and 8m wide penetration on Lady Thesis is a must! Explore the bridge house, engine room and saloon before taking a seat at the dining room tables. This wreck is shallower than Costandis at just 18m, meaning this dive is great for Open Water Divers. There is often a large variety of marine life at this site including trumpet fish, John Dory and juvenile damselfish.
