Palloura

Palloura is a great deep dive often used for technical training, located just 10 minutes out from the harbour.

The reef here is covered in algae and corals, to the naked eye they appear blue or grey but comes alive with colour when lit up by your torch!

For this dive a minimum certification level of Advanced Open Water is required.

If your last dive was more than 1 year ago then you will be required to complete a refresher before joining any of our scheduled dives.

At Palloura there is a large reef running between 2 large sandy patches. The reef has a small pinnacle as well as a series of overhangs and gullies.

We will meet at our well-equipped diving centre in Paphos Harbour. Our friendly and helpful PADI professionals will help you with equipment and begin with an interesting and informative dive briefing. Unless you have your own diving gear, all equipment is supplied by us. We spend a few minutes checking your sizes and will fit you with the suitable gear. All of our diving equipment is well maintained and serviced regularly to ensure your safety and comfort.

Once everyone is ready we will take a short walk to the Paphos harbour where we will board Cydive II. The journey from the harbour to Palloura takes around just 10 minutes by boat.

Drop down onto the reef which begins on the top of the pinnacle at around 18m at the shallowest point. slowly work your way around the pinnacle and down the side of the reef towards the large sandy patch.

Once you reach 30m there is a ridge with overhangs following along the base of the pinnacle. You will discover small holes and gullies all over the pinnacle hiding a range of marine life.

The reef here is covered in algae and corals, to the naked eye they appear blue or grey but comes alive with colour when lit up by your torch! As you begin to corkscrew towards the top of this pinnacle you will find big schools of smaller juvenile fish.

The marine life here ranges from macro nudibranch to large groupers and Loggerhead turtles.

The fish found at this dive site include up to 6 different species of sea bream including rear Zebra Bream. As well as mottled and dusky grouper and painted comber.

For more information about the marine life we see in Cyprus, head over to our marine life page!

Complimentary fresh fruit and refreshments will be served on the boat before returning to the harbour. Back at the dive centre our PADI professionals will debrief you and help you to complete your logbooks.
