Description
Zenobia Snorkeling Day Trip
The wreck of MS Zenobia is a world famous wreck, ranked as one of the 10 wreck dives in the world. She lies between 16 and 42 metres of water, just 1400 meters from the shores of Larnaca. This 172m Swedish Ro-Ro ferry sank on her maiden voyage in 1980 following computer malfunctions in her ballast system. She lies on her port side with 108 articulated lorries. Some of the truck are on the lorry deck, whilst others are tucked away in the cargo hold.
What to expect:
Jump in and take your first look at this ginormous wreck! Visibility at the Zenobia dive site is usually between 20-30meters. Even from the surface you are able to see lots of the Zenobia wreck and the marine life it offers. The underneath of the boat offers the perfect refuge for marine life. Sea Bream, Amber jacks and Trigger fish can often be found just beneath the surface! When you’re ready for a break, climb the ladder back onto the boat and head up to the top deck. The top deck has comfy sofa seats, table and chairs and also sun loungers. Grab a seat and kick back and relax whilst soaking up the Cyprus sun!
For our Zenobia day trip, we will meet at our diving centre in Paphos Harbour at 06:30 and return around 16:00.
Our friendly and helpful PADI professionals will help you with equipment and begin with an interesting and informative dive briefing. Unless you have your own diving gear, all equipment is supplied by us. We spend a few minutes checking your sizes and will fit you with the suitable gear. All of our diving equipment is well maintained and serviced regularly to ensure your safety and comfort.
You will then travel around 90 minutes by road to the Larnaca Marina. Once at the Marina you board the Queen Zenobia, a large two-hull fire boat converted to a two-deck dive boat. It takes just 20 minutes to get from the harbour to the Zenobia.
In between dives there will be snacks, coffee and tea. A delicious and freshly prepared BBQ will be waiting for you at the end of the second dive.
For this day trip all snorkelers need to be comfortable in the water and have a good swimming ability.
