Description

PADI Equipment Specialist

Learn to manage basic scuba diving equipment repairs and adjustments with the PADI Equipment Specialist course. Understand routine care and maintenance procedures and how dive gear works.

Don’t miss a dive due to minor issues with your scuba diving equipment. Whether it’s a missing o-ring, wetsuit tear or a broken fin strap, the PADI Equipment Specialist course teaches you to manage basic repairs and adjustments. You’ll also learn more about how your gear works, making you more comfortable with it and better prepared to take care of your investment.

A fairly extensive coverage of equipment function and problems, to help you identify possible problems and the relative solutions. Also part of the course are techniques to maintain and store your kit before and after your diving season.

This is a great specialty if you are considering buying your own equipment. Learn about different types of regulators and potentially problems, take a look at dry suits vs wetsuits and different BCDs! Once you have all of the information it will be much easier for you to pick out the right equipment for you!

During your course you will learn:

  • Gear care and maintenance procedures as well as scuba equipment storage recommendations.
  • Equipment configuration suggestions and the latest gear.
  • Common equipment problems and how to handle them.

Information

Medical

Each participant is required to complete a medical questionnaire prior to starting any in-water activities. Unfortunately conditions such as epilepsy, pneumothorax, and lung conditions are not able to dive under any circumstances. For more information view the medical questionnaire or please contact us. 

Diving and altitude 

There must be a minimum of 24 hours between surfacing from a dive and ascending to altitude or flying. 

Refund and Cancellation policy

  • The Centre reserves the right to change dive sites without notice, due to weather, safety, or suitability on the day.

  •  Any missed dive once on board will not be refunded.

  • All divers must be medically fit to dive and if in doubt, have a yes on their medical form must obtain a GP approval. 

  • All divers must have dived within 12 months to book a boat/shore dive or day trip. If they have not dived within 12 months a refresher will be needed prior to booking. 

  • If a customer is late for the activity, then the activity will continue excluding them and no refund will be offered.

  • Course and activity fees cannot be refunded if the program is not completed due to the decision of the participant.
