PADI Open Water Course
During the PADI Open Water Diver course, you’ll learn everything you need to know to explore the underwater world using scuba. Most people find it a rewarding challenge.
The Open Water Diver course includes three parts: Knowledge Development, Confined Water Dives, and Open Water Dives.
Knowledge Development covers the principles, concepts and terms you need to know for dive safety and enjoyment. During the Confined Water Dives, you learn and practice scuba skills in a pool or the sea with pool-like conditions. To complete training you practice, apply and demonstrate what you have learnt during four Open Water Dives at a local dive sites.
Earning a PADI Open Water Diver certification shows that you met the course requirements. As an Open Water Diver, you’ll be trained to a maximum depth of 18 metres, and will be able to dive worldwide. It’s just the beginning of a lifetime filled with dive adventures!
- You must be 10 years old or older
- Adequate swimming skills
- good physical health
During this course you will complete:
- Knowledge Development (online, independent study or in a classroom) to understand basic principles of scuba diving
- 5 Pool Sessions to learn basic scuba skills
- 4 open water (sea) dives to use your skills and explore!

Please note there is a minimum requirement of 12-24 hours between diving and flying. Scuba Diving cannot be done on the same day as your flight or travelling to altitude.
Each participant is required to complete a medical questionnaire prior to starting any in-water activities. Unfortunately conditions such as epilepsy, pneumothorax, and lung conditions are not able to dive under any circumstances. For more information view the medical questionnaire or please contact us.
Diving and altitude
There must be a minimum of 24 hours between surfacing from a dive and ascending to altitude or flying.
Refund and Cancellation policy
The Centre reserves the right to change dive sites without notice, due to weather, safety, or suitability on the day.
Any missed dive once on board will not be refunded.
All divers must be medically fit to dive and if in doubt, have a yes on their medical form must obtain a GP approval.
All divers must have dived within 12 months to book a boat/shore dive or day trip. If they have not dived within 12 months a refresher will be needed prior to booking.
If a customer is late for the activity, then the activity will continue excluding them and no refund will be offered.
- Course and activity fees cannot be refunded if the program is not completed due to the decision of the participant.
