PADI Oxygen Provider
Why is the PADI Oxygen Provider course so important?
Oxygen is a key part of helping a diver that is in trouble. Becoming a PADI Oxygen Provider means you are able to offer instant help in a correct and effective manner. Being an oxygen provider also gives you the confidence and skills to help another should anything go wrong.
Knowing how and when to use emergency oxygen is a great skill to have and lets you breathe easy knowing that you can recognize scuba diving illnesses treatable with emergency oxygen.
During your course you will learn:
- About dive injuries, different types of emergency oxygen equipment and safety considerations when using oxygen.
- Assembling and disassembling emergency oxygen equipment.
- Deploying a non-rebreather mask and a demand inhalator valve on a breathing diver.
- Using a pocket mask on a nonbreathing diver.
Within this course you will also learn about the different kinds of mask available to use with an oxygen unit and under which circumstances you will use them. Your instructor will create scenarios for you which allow you to put the knowledge you have learnt into a practical environment.
This course is a dry specialty which means there are no diving or in water activities. There is also no minimum age for this course so children can begin learning how important oxygen is and how they can help someone.
No minimum age however maturity and understanding are critical to complete the course with certification.
This course includes the PADI Oxygen Provider eLearning and certification fees.
This course pairs perfectly with the PADI Rescue and Emergency First Response course!
