Description

PADI Underwater Naturalist

During the PADI Underwater Naturalist you will learn about the underwater world and the interaction between species. Knowing the names of the fishes is not enough. This specialty will allow you to get a better understanding about the local ecosystem. You will see new things, even in the most familiar dive sites. Knowledge about the ecosystem helps to figure out where marine life can be found as well as understanding how an ecosystem can change.

During your course you will learn:

  • to passively observe aquatic life
  • Demonstrate and apply diving techniques that prevent damage to the environment and organisms
  • Locate and identify different aquatic plants, invertebrates and vertebrates
  • Identify the relationship between predators and prey
  • evaluate and identify as human effects on the environment

This course includes the PADI Underwater Naturalist Manual and certification fees.

The Underwater Naturalist specialty fits perfectly into our Ocean Insight package, three great specialties tied into one!

Take a look at our Facebook page to see what marine life and ecosystems our dive sites have to offer!
