PADI Boat Diver
The PADI Boat Diver specialty will expand your knowledge about boats from small inflatables to large liveaboards. This course will cover entry and exit techniques, equipment, preparation and storing, mooring techniques, safety and emergency procedure.
Much of the world’s best scuba diving is accessible only by boat. Whether you’ve never made a boat dive or you’ve logged dozens, the PADI Boat Diver Specialty course will benefit you because boats in various parts of the world do things differently. Scuba diving from a boat is fun and relatively easy because you usually descend directly onto your dive site.
Cydive is the perfect place to complete the boat specialty as we have our very own custom built dive boat – CYDIVE II! This boat has everything you need for the boat specialty including multiple entry and exit areas, two different ways to stow equipment and a large area for safety equipment.
This specialty teaches you about the advantages and how easy its is when diving from a boat.
You’ll practice boat diving techniques and learn:
- Boat terminology.
- Boat diving procedures and etiquette, including how to enter and exit, and where to stow your gear.
- Boating safety, including how to locate safety equipment.
Requirements:
Minimum age – 10 years old
Minimum certification – PADI Open Water or equivalent
Open Water Dives – 2
This course includes the PADI Boat Diver Specialty eLearning and certification fees.

Information
Medical
Each participant is required to complete a medical questionnaire prior to starting any in-water activities. Unfortunately conditions such as epilepsy, pneumothorax, and lung conditions are not able to dive under any circumstances. For more information view the medical questionnaire or please contact us.
Diving and altitude
There must be a minimum of 24 hours between surfacing from a dive and ascending to altitude or flying.
Refund and Cancellation policy

The Centre reserves the right to change dive sites without notice, due to weather, safety, or suitability on the day.

Any missed dive once on board will not be refunded.

All divers must be medically fit to dive and if in doubt, have a yes on their medical form must obtain a GP approval.

All divers must have dived within 12 months to book a boat/shore dive or day trip. If they have not dived within 12 months a refresher will be needed prior to booking.

If a customer is late for the activity, then the activity will continue excluding them and no refund will be offered.
- Course and activity fees cannot be refunded if the program is not completed due to the decision of the participant.
