PADI Underwater Navigation

During your PADI Underwater Navigation specialty you will learn to use natural clues to navigate, and practice methods to estimate distance underwater. You will also practice compass navigation while making multiple turns simulating a real dive route. As well as marking or relocating a submerged object or position from the surface and underwater map making. The final dive of this specialty is great fun for you and your instructor. Structured like a treasure hunt you will be given a set of direction to take and only if you get them right will you find the next set! At the end of your route you will sketch out the whole route, with accurate bearings and measurement.

During your course you will learn:

  • Methods to estimate distance
  • Compass navigation
  • Marking or relocating a submerged object
  • Underwater map making

The Underwater Navigation specialty is key for any diver! This will help you throughout your whole diving adventure regardless of where in the world you are and the type of dive you’re doing.

This course includes the PADI Underwater Navigation eLearning and certification fees.
